OPEN
EDITION CANVAS GICLEES
We
are pleased to offer a large selection of Open Edition
canvas giclees, either framed or unframed, which
are produced directly from Anita's original paintings.
These giclees are produced in an unlimited number,
thus making them very affordable.
The printing process used in the production of these Open Edition canvas giclees involves close collaboration between the artist and the printer, and is quite different from offset lithography, as no films or plates are used in the process. The original painting is scanned into a computer and that image then is printed directly onto 100% acid-free canvas. At this point the artist and the printer work together to adjust the color balance to match the original as closely as possible. Several test canvases are printed, and from this group the artist chooses the "Artist's Proofs" (usually two to four in number). These are the pieces that are used by the printer to match every single giclee in the print run of 100 copies, and these are the pieces that later become the most collectable.
The printer used to produce these giclees offers a much higher resolution than any other process available today. A fine stream of UV protective archival ink is sprayed, more than four million droplets per second, onto specially treated canvas from six separate spray nozzles: Each nozzle produces a combination of 512 chromatic changes, with over three million color possibilities from the combined six nozzles. the result is a razor sharp image with extreme depth of color, bright highlights and highly defined contrasts. Each canvas is then sealed to protect from UV rays. The result is a collector quality work of art that you will be proud to pass on generation to generation.
These Open Edition canvas giclees offer an extraordinary
value, as the highest quality materials are used in
their production. Each giclee is printed
on 100% acid-free canvas with archival quality colorfast
inks. These inks contain a special protective chemical
that blocks the sun's damaging UV rays. An additional
topcoat of matte finish sealant is applied to the
surface of the canvas offering further protection.
The result is an heirloom quality, durable work of
art that can be cleaned with a soft dry cloth. Every
Open Edition canvas lithograph comes with a Certificate
of Authenticity, signed and dated by the artist.
